  • Bernina Lady Newsletter For Feb. 2008

Mr. Groundhog says we will have an early spring. After this last snowfall I’m beginning to wonder about his prognostications. The only good thing about a snow storm is that we get to be storm stayed with our Bernina machines and that housework doesn’t matter as no one will be in to visit anyway. Ok, that’s the bright side of it.

The Bernina Lady was not able to make training for My Label Software in Toronto last week due to the storm in Toronto. Plans have been changed and a new date of February 26th, 2008 has been organized. I have my plane ticket and Toronto bound for training then. More information will be forthcoming about My Label software after that. You can download a demonstration of this software from www.berninausa.com.

Exciting news this week as the new Bernettes for Bernina have arrived. There are 4 machines in this line up. The top of the line Bernette (92c) is computerized with 150 built in stitches; the 82e has 28 built in stitches, Bernette 66 - 26 built in stitches and the Bernette 56 - 23 built in stitches. These machines will be on the road with The Bernina Lady for the next little while. First outing for these machines will be February 16th from 9:30-3:00 at Avonport Discount Fabrics. Next outing will be at Quilts by the Sea on February 28th from 10 to 3. You are welcome to drop by for a demo anytime. Please have a look at my schedule of events at www.berninalady.com to see when I am in your area. As always, if you live close by you can drop up to the house to see all that is Bernina as well. Brochures are available for printing under the products tab at www.berninalady.com.

I have just spent today stitching on the Bernette 92c and 82e. Any of the 4 machines would be wonderful second machines to take to class. The ¼” foot that comes with the 92c and is available for the 82e gives us a wonderful scant ¼” seam allowance for piecing. All models of the new Bernettes have a built in blanket stitch. All models allow us to drop our feed dogs and free motion quilt. A little biased I might be, however, I declare them a wonderful addition to the Bernina line up of products.

The Limited Edition Aurora 450 will be available again for a short amount of time if any of you are interested, but time is of the essence. The Aurora 450 has 391 built in stitches and a 9 mm stitch width. (please see news article regarding 5.5 mm vs. 9 mm stitch width). This exclusive machine offers legendary Swiss precision and endless embellishment options with its wide range of 9 mm decorative stitches! Plus, when you add the optional Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) and embroidery module, your machine can grow as your creativity does. A contemporary blue faceplate and an anniversary medallion give this Bernina a distinctive look.

Again, I thank all of you for your support over the last month. The Bernina Lady is here for you because you are there.

    Thank you,

    Jeanne
